Get ready to be amazed by magnificent Alaskan glaciers! We will fly you above the Knik Glacier, an impressive 25-mile long, 6-mile wide river of ice. You might see Dall sheep, mountain goats, bald eagles, moose, and bear on your flight above this glacial wonderland. The adventure flies you over The Gorge where a 75-foot high vertical ice wall creates a narrow passage into Lake George, an iceberg-studded lake with glaciers that break from Colony Glacier. Your helicopter will land on a glacier, right in the middle of some of the most dramatic mountain scenery in Alaska. Step out onto ice thousands of years old. Experience the wonder and beauty that is Alaska in its glacial melt pools and stunning ice sculptures created by water, wind, and sun. Your adventure continues after boarding the helicopter back en route to the Knik River Lodge.

During summer [May through September] our flights depart from our off airport base at Knik River Lodge. Located just 45 minutes northeast of Anchorage, Knik River Lodge is ideally suited to serve as the starting point for a great Alaskan adventure. In this case we will be flying out of the Knik River Lodge.

What to Bring
- Appropriate clothing for changing weather conditions is suggested
- Closed-toe shoes with rubber soles such as light hiking boots or athletic shoes are recommended
- A weather-resistant jacket, light hat and gloves are also a good idea
- Dress in layers so you can add or remove items as appropriate for changing conditions.
- Sunglasses and sunscreen are recommended
- Bring your camera - we recommend wearing dark clothing to reduce reflections in your photos
Getting There
By Car: Group 3 can arrange ground transfer from your hotel in Anchorage. Driving directions from Anchorage area: Take the AK-1 N for 27.9 miles, then exit onto Old Glenn Hwy and stay on this for 8.7 miles, then Slight right onto Knik River Rd and continue for 11 miles; the Knik River Lodge will be on the right at the end of the road at 29979 E. Knik River Road, Palmer, Alaska 99645.
